Hershey Shelter Closed

UPDATE - The shelter at the Donegal Intermediate School will be closing at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both shelters that were open last night are closed.

The American Red Cross has closed its shelter located at Hershey High School in Dauphin County. Last night two people stayed at the shelter. They have since left.

The Shelter at Donegal Intermediate School in Lancaster County also had two people stay last night. This shelter is currently still open.

The Red Cross continues to monitor the situation and will provide assistance as needed to help those impacted by this week’s flooding.

Red Cross Dauphin/Lancaster County Shelters

The American Red Cross is opening two shelters to assist those who have been displaced by the flooding in central Pennsylvania. The shelters will open on Wednesday, July 25, at 2:00 p.m.

Locations are as follows:
  • Hershey High School (550 Homestead Rd, Hershey, PA 17033)
  • Donegal Intermediate School (1177 River Road, Marietta, PA 17547)
The shelters will provide food, a safe place to sleep, and support for local residents who have experienced flooding or storm damage in their homes. Those coming to a shelter should bring identification and their personal medications and medical supplies with them. It is also recommended that residents bring blankets, pillows, extra clothing, personal hygiene items, any infant/child items and important documents.
